Leipzig's form coming in — W L W L W — had that alternating quality that makes you wonder which version will show up. Saturday's version was the good one. Twenty-five shots and 80% pass accuracy against a Gladbach side that arrived with three wins in their last five suggests this was more than a favorable matchup.
Gladbach will feel the absence of a proper response in the second half most acutely. They had the pieces on paper to make this uncomfortable, and they never did. The question now is whether this Leipzig performance is the start of something more consistent or just another peak in that zigzag form line. Based on what Gomis and Nusa showed on Saturday, there's reason to think it might be the former.
