There are draws that feel like a fair result and draws that feel like a missed opportunity. Sunday's 0-0 at La Rosaleda was both, depending on which bench you were sitting on.

Málaga had the ball — 62.8 percent of it — and the corners (six to four), and the passes (578 to 334 at 90 percent accuracy). What they didn't have was a finishing touch. Three shots on target from ten attempts is a number that tells its own story, and Levante's goalkeeper made all three saves he needed to. Nothing more was asked of him.

Levante, for their part, came with a plan and stuck to it. Sitting at 37 percent possession might look passive on a stat sheet, but they generated 11 shots — one more than the hosts — with three on target of their own. Málaga's goalkeeper matched that with three saves. Both sides had the ball in dangerous areas at moments; neither could do anything with it.

Cards, Frustration, and a Feisty Finish

The bookings told the story of a game that got under everyone's skin. Málaga picked up four yellows — Daniel Lorenzo in the 25th, Rafa Garrido in the 34th, Pablo Martínez just before halftime in the 45+1, and Carlos Puga deep in stoppage time at 90+2. Fifteen fouls committed by the home side, and the card count reflects how much pressure they were putting on themselves trying to force something that wasn't coming.

Levante were cleaner in the tackle but not immune. Adrián de la Fuente was booked in the 70th minute, and Aïssa Mandi picked up a yellow in the 90+5 as tensions spilled over at the final whistle. ¡Ala gran púchica! — six yellows in a 0-0 is a game that wanted to be something more than it became.

Málaga came in on a DLDLW run, Levante on DWDLL. Two sides unsettled, neither dominant enough in recent weeks to feel truly confident. Our pre-match read couldn't separate them — this was a near-even matchup from the start, and a draw was always sitting right there in the middle of it.

The question now is what either side takes from this. Málaga will feel they left a point behind; they had the territorial advantage all afternoon and couldn't convert a single clear look. Three shots on target from ten is a conversion problem, not a possession problem, and that's harder to fix between now and the next fixture. Levante, meanwhile, will quietly take the point. Away from home against a side that dominated the ball, a clean sheet and a share of the spoils is a workable outcome — even if their own attack showed enough to suggest they could have nicked it on the counter.

Cabal, neither side deserved more than they got. But Málaga, given everything they controlled, will be the ones who feel it.
