Barcelona came to Valencia and made it look easy. By the time the second half was ten minutes old, they led 3-0, Lamine Yamal had scored twice, and Levante's evening looked beyond salvage. The late flurry from the home side — two goals in nine minutes — dressed up the scoreline, but it didn't change what this game was.

Our pre-match read made Barcelona heavy favorites at 81%, and they left no doubt.

The First Half Was Over Early

Xavi Espart opened the scoring in the 5th minute, finishing off an assist from Raphinha, and the tone was set before Levante had really settled. The hosts were chasing shadows for long stretches, and when Raphinha picked out Lamine Yamal in the 19th minute for the second, it felt like a matter of how many rather than whether Barcelona would win.

The possession numbers tell the story plainly: 74.9% for Barcelona, 782 passes to Levante's 243, with the visitors completing 90% of what they attempted compared to 70% for the home side. Levante had the ball when Barcelona let them have it, which was not often.

Both sides picked up yellows deep in first-half stoppage time — Gerard Martín for Barcelona in the 45th minute, Hugo Sotelo for Levante four minutes later — but neither changed much about the shape of things.

Yamal Puts It Away

If there was any lingering doubt about the result, Yamal killed it three minutes into the second half. A penalty, converted calmly, made it 3-0, and en qué clavo se encontraba Levante — 45 minutes to play, three down, and a Barcelona side that had barely broken a sweat.

El chispudo de Yamal, always finding ways to hurt you. Two goals and a performance that will keep defenders up at night.

Levante did pull two back, credit where it's due. Iván Romero got one back in the 79th minute, and Roger Brugué added another in the 88th, briefly giving the Estadi Ciutat de València something to cheer. But Karim Adeyemi, assisted by Marc Bernal, killed any lingering drama with a goal in the 93rd minute to seal the 4-2 final.

What to Make of It

Levante's form coming in — one win in their last five — told you they were vulnerable, and Barcelona's relentless start exposed exactly that. Thirteen shots for the home side, seven on target, but most of the attacking intent came too late to matter.

Raphinha's two assists are easy to overlook in the Yamal conversation, but he was the engine of both early goals and deserves the mention.

Barcelona are now five wins from five, and nothing about this performance suggests they're slowing down. The question now is whether anyone in LaLiga can match their press and their pace in transition — because Levante, for all their late effort, had no answer for it when it counted.
